Who is responsible

What we do not collect
There are no user accounts, mailing lists or profile pages. We do not ask for your name, email or payment details to use the catalogue, quiz or rankings.
Visit count
The home page shows how many times the site has been opened. That is a single running number. Your browser remembers, for the session only, that it has already been counted, so a refresh does not add another visit. We do not store an IP address or a name against the count.
Community Top 20
If you submit a ranking, we keep the ordered list of twenty song titles and nothing that identifies you. Rankings are public in aggregate: other visitors can see how songs placed, not who voted.
What stays on your device
A draft Top 20 and your best quiz score are saved in this browser so they are still there if you come back. You can clear them by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings. We cannot read those values from another device.
Advertising
Google AdSense may show ads and set cookies to work out what to show. Google’s own explanations are on Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses advertising cookies. Our authorised seller line is in ads.txt.
Bookshop links
Library links to Amazon.co.uk may include an affiliate tag. If you buy through them, Amazon may pay a small commission. That does not change the price you pay. Amazon’s handling of those visits is governed by Amazon’s own terms.

Fan-club, museum and share links leave this site. Those destinations have their own policies.
