The first track recorded for Revolver. John’s vocal was pushed through a Leslie speaker. Five tape loops — including Paul’s laughing-gulls guitar — were mixed live. The lyric draws on The Psychedelic Experience (Leary, Metzner, Alpert) and the Tibetan Book of the Dead. The title is another Ringo-ism.
